Pistol & Carbine Mechanics Movement & Shooting Positions

Course Description:

This intermediate-level course is designed to refine speed, stability, and efficiency with both pistol and carbine platforms. While reinforcing core fundamentals, students will learn to increase their shooting speed through efficient mechanics. Techniques will be applied during movement, as well as in transitions between target and weapon systems.

Topics Covered:

• • • Reinforcement of safety and range procedures

    • Efficiency in draw stroke and first-shot accuracy

    • Reloads (emergency and tactical)

    • Malfunction clearance drills under pressure

    • Shooting on the move and from cover (as range allows)

    • Target transitions and split-time management

    • Recoil control and follow-up shot placement

    • Timed drills and baseline tracking for personal growth

    • Intro to performance tracking (hit factor, shot cadence, time vs. accuracy balance)

     

Equipment Needed

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

• Ear Protection

• Eye Protection

• Body Armor:
  • Plate carriers and chest rigs are allowed but not needed.

• Firearms:

  • Pistols: 500 Rounds or more

  • Rifles: (AR style platform) 500 Rounds or more (Slings are required for transitions)

  • Magazines: 3 magazines at minimum for each weapon platform.
